Searing Strike is Dragonknight’s active ability from Ardent Flame tree. Searing Strike does not deal instant damage. This spell burns nearby target dealing DoT damage. Requires Magicka energy. Dragonknight can learn this spell at the 4th rank of Ardent Flame.

How to use?

The general advantage of the spell is radius. While most of the Dragon Knight’s spells require close contact this spell does not. You do not need to be too close to the target to hit it with Searing Strike. The spell can be used to finish low health target that is trying to escape. You can hit the enemy who has low health and he will burn and die.

The spell can also be used to prevent enemy from using sneaking. As you know there are several variants to detect player. Deal damage is one of them. Searing Strike stays active for at least 8 seconds and your enemy will not be able to use benefits of shadow attacks during this time.

If an enemy Dragonknight hit you with Searing Strike try to dispel it as soon as possible. Thus you won’t receive all the damage the ability can deal.
