Soul Shred is an Ultimate ability that belongs to Siphoning skill line. It deals AoE damage and stuns all nearby enemies. The most important feature of Soul Shred is that your allies may activate Leeching Strike synergy: powerful attack that deals high damage and restores health.
Siphoning skill line consists of many spells that allow Nightblade to drain power from enemies. Soul Shred is the most powerful attack in this tree. Nightblade should use this attack when he is surrounded by many enemies. The more foes you hit with this skill – the better. The direct damage is rather high and the stunning effect will help in any encounter.
How to use
There is one thing you should know about this spell. Soul Shred can be used with maximum effect in the middle of the fight. That’s because of Leeching Strike. If you use this ability right in the beginning your allies will hardly be able to benefit from Leeching Strike synergy. The reason is because this synergy restores health, but most of the allies have full health in the beginning of the encounter. They will not be able to leach a lot of health from the foes. That’s why overall effect will be low in this situation.
The best time for Soul Shred is when your allies can benefit from Leeching Strike. Imagine you are fighting and see that your group needs healing. You can use the Ultimate in order to give your allies chance to restore health with Leeching Strike and deal heavy damage to enemies.
Soul Shred is an Ultimate spell and requires enough Ultimate points. It is difficult to recharge the spell and that’s the reason why you need to use it when you can get maximum efficiency.
