It's the moment we've all been waiting for! ZeniMax Online announced an approximate release date of Elder Scrolls Online. The Official press release on bethsoft.com shows that the game will be released in spring 2014. It is the first official release date announced by the game developers, and though the exact date is still unknown; this announcement gives an idea of when to expect the game.
This isn't the only surprise announcement. The press release also confirms that ESO will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It's believed that owners of consoles, PC'S and Mac's will be able to join the world of TES Online simultaneously with a shared release date for all platforms.
Some gamers are not satisfied with the news. Many expected to see ESO in autumn - winter 2013 and believe that the delay is due to ZeniMax Online making it playable on console. Anyway the release date is announced, we know when the game will come. All we have to do now is to wait.
Paul Sage also confirmed that PC/Mac and Console versions of the game will be different. At the very least they will have a different UI (User Interface). This is a smart decision because it is impossible to create a great game for different controls. So there is nothing to worry about. The game will not be simplified, there will be two different versions. Moreover, PC / Mac players and Console players will be hosted on separate servers. So if you are a PC owner you will never meet an Xbox One owner in the game.
The press release confirms that ESO will be available for consoles. But will the console version be tested? I hear you ask. The answer is yes. Any console owner can sign up for ESO beta testing. Just go to the official beta sign up page and fill the required information. Ignore “System Profile” field and do not forget to mention that you have PlayStation 4 or Xbox One in “Extra” field. Good luck!
