Spear Wall is Templar’s passive ability from Aedric Spear school. When you master this ability your blocks against melee attacks become more effective. The only requirement for this ability to work is you need to have at least one spear ability slotted on you hotbar. If you have no spear abilities the passive does not work.
The class system in Elder Scrolls Online allows to master as many skills as you wish so this spell must be in your arsenal if you are using spear spells. It gives you increased defense when you use blocking and block is used pretty often in the game.
